Putting some finishing touches on my Matthias Wandel jig, hoping to test run it this weekend.

Trying to un-jam this cash register that I very successfully jammed.

Starting to sand and oil the ole stock pile

Changed out the bottom of the printing press drawer table with new bracing because I never like the old one.  Pretty happy with how the angles turned out.

And changed the bracing for the wine rack as we never liked that either.

Spent the day cutting it up, just to put it back together

The only downside of working with reclaimed lumber is the warped, bent, crooked, overall jacked up wood aspect of some of the lumber.  One way to deal with this problem is to clamp the piece with all your clamps til it's true and get a couple screws in it.  Works every time.

Below is what is left of my original wine rack design, after it met an unfortunate end by my own hand.

Alas, I like the new design better.

And my Letter J turned out nice, the J enjoys hanging out with the reclining nude.

Attempt of the day was to make a wall mounted wine rack out of only one piece of wood 8 1/4 inches wide by 2 ft long.  Process shots.

Marks before I cut the whole slab in half

Leftover circles will become mounted holders for small end of bottle

Shop Tip 101:  What do you do when you don't own a protective holder for your ipod and it will most likely break when you shove it in the ass pocket of you pants to build wood products in your shop?

Answer :  Find the beer cozy you got in New Orleans shove the sucker in there put it in your pocket and it's now protected better than the New York Times newspaper passwords.

Made some coasters and two coat racks . . . and saw George Lucas's doppelganger walking down the street, taking photos of houses with his ipad.  Maybe he was a scout doing field research for the actual George Lucas.  Because George Lucas only employs people that look exactly like him.  Just a thought.
